Hope in the Woods is the studio of designer-maker Luke Hope, who carves plates, bowls and presentation boards from single blocks of seasoned hardwood. Flowing dips and rises deliver consistent shadow gradients that add dimension without stealing focus.
Working primarily in sycamore, walnut and responsibly sourced ancient bog oak, Luke shapes tableware that reads minimal at a distance and richly tactile up close. Finished with food‑safe oils and waxes, each piece develops a gentle patina perfect for daily use in service.
Every curve is cut by hand and nothing is wasted; offcuts often become spoons and servers. The result is durable wooden tableware made to be maintained and re‑oiled over time, not replaced.
