Duchess China 1888
One of the last remaining fine bone china makers in the UK, Duchess China has been handcrafting ceramics in Stoke-on-Trent since, you guessed it, 1888. Their team of skilled artisans still shape, fire, and finish every piece by hand, keeping centuries-old techniques alive in the heart of the Staffordshire. We love Duchess for their craft, their history, and their unwavering attention to detail.
What sets Duchess apart is their fully bespoke service and rare ability to do everything under one roof. From mould-making and silk-screen printing to hand-painting and gilding, their full-circle, 'clay-to-cup' process gives them complete creative control. They create one-of-a-kind collections tailored to each client, whether it’s sketching custom patterns or developing entirely new shapes.
We’ve collaborated on bespoke ranges for iconic names like Rosewood London and the Belmond Britannic Explorer train, crafting elegant, story-led tableware that reflects the spaces it’s made for.
